It’s always difficult knowing how to dress during the British summer, especially when the weather is so temperamental.  I know a lot of us struggle when it comes to finding the right outfit for a specific occasion, especially when we never know what the weather is going to do.

I find shopping in the summer sales somewhat overwhelming and can throw you into a spin. You can start looking for something and end up buying a lot of unnecessary items which take up valuable wardrobe space. Instead, start nice and early and buy yourself those all important key items, certainly when the shops are less busy which is definitely before mid-day, giving yourself time to relax and so you don’t feel like you are rummaging through a jumble sale.

On saying this, if you are shopping designer brands this will not be so much of a problem and you can find some amazing deals. It’s very important to stay focused on what you are looking for. A clever SALE shopper will look for items that will go forward into the following season. It is so easy to get caught up in the mayhem so staying calm and  knowing what you want to buy will lead you to finding your key items.

No matter what your budget is, it is important to always look your best – if you can mix high street and designer you are on to a winner. Whether you are a chic festival goer or getting ready for holidays, here is my selection of what you should be wearing this summer.

Look 1:

This summer, coloured sun-glasses are very in, and will always complete an outfit. I love mixing big prints and earthy colours. It’s important not to forget to accessorise with cute dresses like this, as it can really make a huge difference to an outfit.

Although these shoes aren’t practical for festivals like Glastonbury, they would work for festivals such as Coachella, as well as being perfect for summer lunches.

This is my favourite look out of all three, it really gives you that summer boho feel. I love this floaty dress with matching ear rings.  The green sunglasses are a perfect colour match to the dress, as well as the gorgeous white sandals that have a small heal – making your legs and posture look so much better yet ensure you are pain free!

This outfit is very colour driven – Jaded are great for creating festival looks. This dress is perfect for all types of festivals, matched with these cute biker boots which can definitely be worn all year round. If you aren’t comfortable wearing such revealing dresses, I found these cute embroided jeans which can also be matched with these boots. Finally, I love finishing off an outfit with a cute hat. You never know if you will need it for the rain or to protect you from the sunshine!!

Muted colours are always great for the summer and can carry through into autumn. For example Pre Fall is featuring this sludgy pinky colour so you know it will look great for more than one season.

Look out for next months blog to get a clearer idea as to the colours and shapes leading into Fall.
