Fashion Blog & Style Advice

Emmanuelle Rienda founder of Le French Lab organised the very first vegan fashion week which took place in LA this February, “Vegan Fashion Week is going to exist until every fashion house decides this is the norm,” she said. “There is no room for cruelty or for ways of doing fashion that is polluting this planet.”

So what’s in store… Below are some ways to incorporate vegan leather into your outfits. See below the fabulous leather alternatives for this spring / summer and where to shop for them…

Neutral colour pallets are big this season. Add a mule shaped shoe to your wardrobe and you can’t go wrong… even better still if the shoe is vegan/faux like the one below:

Shoes – Nanushka, €390.                                                                               Trousers – American Vintage £155 Top, River Island, £12                                                 Cropped Jacket, Nanushka, €225 was €560

I like this outfit as it shows an option of 2 wrap dresses at different price points. Wrap dresses are stylish and flattering at the waist. These Sling back heels are both vegan and versatile can be worn with both a dress or trousers. This stunning bag (great alternative to a leather clutch) it is an investment but will glam up any outfit.

Shoes – Free People £24.95 (were £68)

Alice And Olivia, £409.41

  2. Belted Kimono Wrap Dress, & Other Stories, £69:
  3. Black Wrap Dress, The Kooples, £265:

OUTFIT 3: Yellow is a key colour this season and can also be carried through to high summer. Stella McCartney being a fashion leader is HOT on vegan leather. Nanushka is also ahead of the game with vegan leather as shown below:

  1. Platform trainers (Vegan leather), Stella McCartney, £565:
  2. Trousers,Maxmara,£320 :
  3. Vegan leather tee, Nanushka, €110 was €280:

OUTFIT 4:Camouflage print has been seen lots in stores. Tiered skirts are a shape to purchase. Mix and matching of patterns is also on trend so you could work the snaked skinned patterned shoes with the skirt. This bag is a great alternative to leather as it is made of all natural materials.

  1. Ankle boots, Free People, £78:
  2. Crossbody bag, Zara, £29.99:
  3. Frill Skirt, The Kooples, £248:
  4. High Neck Top, River Island, £12:
  5. Faux Fur Biker Jacket, Topshop, £40 was £65:

OUTFIT 5:Check this look out. If the sun comes out in the next few weeks and your one of those who puts open toes on at any opportunity make a quick purchase of Stella McCartneys vegan leather shoes. This vegan leather Saddle bag is personally my favourite, love the colour!

  1. Sandals (Vegan leather), Stella McCartney, £585:
  2. Vegan leather Saddle bag, Miomojo, £66.12:
  3. Trousers, American Vintage, £155:–1/trousers-jeans-en/womens-trousers-akining-aki161e19–1?sku=164541
  4. Round necked linen top, H&M, £12.99:
  5. Check blazer, Zara, £69.99:

OUTFIT 6:White flares are essential in your spring summer wardrobe. I’ve created 2 edgy looks below. Wear it simply with a vegan leather leotard or a simple cami and a vegan studded biker jacket. Veja trainers are a must have when talking about sustainable materials.

  1. Vegan trainers, Veja, €99
  2. Flared Jeans, Chloe, £810:
  3. Vegan Leather Leotard, Free People, £58:
  4. Cami, American Vintage, £120:–1/tops-tshirts-en/womens-top-akining-aki152e19–1?sku=164504
  5. Studded Vegan Moto Jacket, Free People, £188:

OUTFIT 7: Pastel colours and tie dye are big this Spring Summer. You can mix and match tie-dye colours by wearing the polo neck top with the denim jacket or a plain top with the jtie-dye jacket, whichever works for you.

  1. Platform trainers (Vegan leather), Stella McCartney, £495:
  2. Metallic Tote Bag, Free People, £29.95:
  3. Organic Cotton High Waist Mom Jeans, Monki, ASOS, £40:
  4. Tie Dye High neck, Stradivarious, ASOS, £15.99:
  5. Tye & Dye Jacket, Zadig & Voltaire, £330:

As the Easter weekend approaches, here are some ideas for your planned trip away with friends, family or your other half, as well as how to pack efficiently and make the most out of your space.Make sure you pack both practically and lightly ensuring you have everything you need.If possible take a ‘carry on’ case, I personally don’t find it that easy as I like choice, however the clever travellers amongst you will pack a small wheely case and will be on your way to your hotel before I’ve even left the airport! If you're a ‘carry on gal’ in order to save space, rolling clothes is a good way to go.
